How it works

Customers pick an amount, add a message and pay by card. The gift card goes out by email. There's no HST on the sale itself; the tax applies when the card pays for a clean.
20% off, or $25 off. Set how many times it can be used and when it ends, then put it in an email, on Instagram or on a door hanger.
The customer enters the code or the gift card and the price updates in front of them. A $203.40 clean with a $150 gift card is $53.40 to pay, worked out for you.

What owners ask about gift cards & discounts
Can I sell cleaning gift cards online?
Yes. Customers buy them online and pay by card, and the gift card is sent by email. When the person who got it books, the card applies at booking.
Do I charge HST when I sell a gift card?
No, not on the sale. The CRA treats selling a gift certificate as not a supply; the tax applies when the card is used, on the clean it pays for. So a $150 card has no HST on it, and the $180 clean it's used on still has $23.40 of HST. (CRA GST/HST policy statement P-202, checked October 23, 2026. Ask your accountant about anything unusual.)
Can my gift cards expire?
In Ontario, generally not. The province's consumer protection rules don't allow an expiry date on most gift cards, with narrow exceptions. Discount codes are different: you can give those an end date and a usage limit. Rules vary by province, so check with a lawyer before you print an expiry on a gift card.
What kinds of discount codes can I make?
A percentage off, like 20%, or a fixed amount off, like $25. Set a limit on how many times it can be used and when it ends. Usage tracking shows how many times each code was used.
Can I use a discount code in an email campaign?
Yes. Put the code in a campaign to past customers, and it applies when they book.
